This pioneer introduced the flour mill industry in Madurai. Second World War dislocated the entire commercial activities in the country. The usual movement of Grams, Dhals, Gram Flour to the South was disrupted and there was severe shortage of all commodities.

During this time of crisis, Thiru. S.V. Sankaralinga Nadar took a bold decision and commenced the flour industry. He flagged off with gram flour sales.

The journey was challenging initially. With his perseverance and a ‘never give up’ attitude, Mr. Nadar built up the sales one step at a time. He also expanded his product line into rice flour, peas flour.

By maintaining high quality and competitive pricing, he created a substantial market share for SVS products.

Mr. Sundaramurti, a law graduate from the Madras law college has been instrumental in scaling up SVS brand and taking it to greater heights. He has followed his father’s footsteps all through. Titled as ‘VanigarSri’ by Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association, Mr. Sundaramurthi has held various senior positions in many organizations and contributed to their growth significantly.
